Here’s a short guide about how to play hide-and-seek with toddlers based on you as a toddler today. Because sadly, you’re going to one day start thinking inside the box and forget one day how to play like a kid. We all go through it!
If you’re the hider: announce where you’re going, face a surface, and then close your eyes. When the seeker finds you, ignore their existence because if you can’t see them then they can’t see you! Also optional is occasionally yelling out “I’m here” just to provide a clue because you’re obviously a great hider.
If you’re the seeker: count and announce you’re coming to find everyone. But really you’re just going to pretend you have no idea where anyone is and announce it loudly. Even toddlers like to feel accomplished and successful.
I hope you don’t grow out of your kid spirit though!
