Your mother and I continue to grind and hustle. Until 8:30 PM, it’s all about you – laughing at your antics, babbling with you, trying to get you to eat, keeping you away from all the cabinets…. But once you’re down for the night, we both go into overdrive: your mother works on her blog and I will draw a cartoon.
You might ask to what end and why we would do this to ourselves. At some point, I’d like to write and publish a children’s book. And your mother wants to monetize her blog. As you may have gathered from previous letters, her blog has been the source of some fights and frustrations – she never gets enough time to work on it, she has high expectations, I have high expectations – but she continues to plug away at it despite constantly being run down from having to feed you at night and care for you during the day. I’m not sure how she does it.
In any case, she’s too modest to brag, but your mother had a GREAT breakthrough recently when she was featured for a Marks and Spencer campaign for their new line of cookware. How awesome is that? I think it’s so amazing. I’m so happy that she could get some recognition for the great content she produces; I couldn’t be more proud of her and The Worktop! And by the bye, you’re one lucky kid to have her preparing your meals. Your future partner is going to be either very lucky (if you pick up a feel tricks from your mother) or unlucky (if your expectations are going to be too high).
