I don’t quite know when it was, but I stopped playing computer games in the first half of 2015. It’s a little sad to me because it feels like the end of an era. It only happens to coincide with the fact that your mother and I don’t fight that often anymore. I refuse to believe gaming is the cause and fighting is the effect!
So where has my free time gone? Well, believe it or not, I’ve just gotten progressively more domesticated. And, believe it or not again, I kind of enjoy it…
- I’ll start picking up some stuff around the dining table and then move on to the kitchen counter, and soon enough I’m buzzing all around the flat.
- I’ll sit there cutting cheese cloth to wrap up cedar blocks and then tie it off with a knot so we can ward off moths.
- I’ll water the plants around the house.
- I’ll re-pot plants that have been sitting in the cheap industrial pots they come with when you buy it from the store.
All the while, your mom will be putzing around the kitchen making us a great meal or working on her blog or playing Candy Crush.
I’ve also tried to get back into long-standing interests like drawing, writing, and making music (not that I am good at any of them!). I think I should combine the drawing and writing into comics. Maybe they’ll start popping up in your letters. We shall see.
