I’m currently away on a business trip to NY and if my feelings about Kili are any indication of my feelings for you, I may become very resistant to going on business trips when you’re around. It’s tough to separate yourself from a bundle of cuteness. Imagine your favorite food, then imagine you’re only allowed to take one bite and then forced to put it away. If you’re anything like me, you’re going to want to eat the whole damn thing. You’re going to want to eat that entire 5lb bag of Haribos you just opened.
Your aunt also made a comment to your mom recently about how working is so much better than staying at home with the kid: with work, life’s easier, you get paid, and your efforts are recognized in a very tangible way while the one staying at home often goes unappreciated. I can’t help but think that’s true, and so I wish I was home to help your mom deal with Kili. She looks and is cute, but she’s become a little energizer puppy wired to only play, play, play with the occasional nap for a recharge.
So throughout this trip I’ve gotten a lot of photos of Kili when she’s looking cute…
…and I get a lot of texts about Kili when she’s annoying:
8/6/2015, 15:59 Crazy dog. Crazy day at the park. She had diarrhea and shit all over her butt. Had to wash her butt and cut more hair.
8/6/2015 17:03 She still hasn’t slept. Been playing this whole time. My gosh. [I know, who uses “gosh”?]
8/7/2015 13:03 Uh huh says the one that doesn’t have to put up with her all day…”dogs do not have a large prefrontal cortex, which is the part of the brain that is associated with both planning for the future and inhibiting impulses.” Now I understand
8/8/2015 15:06 Officially annoyed with dog now. She kept whining at door so I took her down. She did nothing but try to eat everything on the ground.
Funny thing is, I read those texts and I just think about how cute Kili is. Look at that face! How can anyone ever get annoyed with those big black eyes and that big black button nose of hers?? But perhaps I should have your mom leave me with Kili for a week straight before I say that.
