This past weekend, we helped celebrate Henry’s (a future friend of yours) first birthday! The theme of the party was “The Little Gentleman”.
Your mother catered it while I helped with the setup. We ended up spending more time with the set up than the actual party…and it’s not even our party! But that was my lesson of the day: toddler parties are short in duration, but extremely intense in energy.
So what did it feel like staring into our not-so-distant future?
Very tiring. We kept wondering why we would spend our last remaining weekends of freedom tying ourselves to events like this. Maybe it means we’ve accepted our fate and we’re ready. Then again, it’s hard to turn down a friend in need. Plus, you get to see amusing meta situations like below. I’ll be joining their ranks soon.
Anyway, you can probably tell from the photos that your mom made an amazing spread and the party had a lot going on. Don’t expect a production like this for your birthday. A) We don’t have enough friends, and B) we don’t have enough $$$. We’re saving for your tuition money.
