Dear Baobao and Baby,
After ten days in San Diego, all I can say is I never thought Baobao would fall so in love with my parents. The sheer level of excitement when we were exiting the baggage claim, sprinting over to grandma with a high-pitched scream of “grannnnnnmmmmaaaaaaaa” and then bowling her over with a good solid toddler tackle.
From there, it was just non-stop play with granma and yeye…or rather, non-stop bossing them around. It’s sweet though seeing Baobao and my parents bond. He would do everything with my dad – from building little wooden airplanes to watering the plans to seeing where the exhaust fan goes. This also includes napping together in the back of the car when we arrive home and BB’s not awake yet, so yeye sits next to him and falls asleep himself.
I only stuck around for ten days before taking off back to London. Prior to my flight, Baobao sent me off with a long-winded goodbye about looking at the stars, seeing me in London via the stars, and then what train I should take from Heathrow back to Old Street. I’ll be on my own in London, working, while BB and mama (and baby inside mama!) go on some more family adventures!
