Dear Baobao and Baby,
Back in London and back to the grind! We (yes, including you, Baby) all survived San Diego. It was a lot of family time and there was some drama, but what’s family without drama?
We settled into a routine of easy living, which is primarily made up of figuring out how to entertain Baobao. In between the trips to go see his cousins, we had a list of go-to activities he enjoyed. In the mornings there was the beach (either Imperial or Coronado), in the late afternoons there was either the swimming pool or bicycle boats on the lake.
Baobao loved excursions to the outlet mall because while baba and mama went shopping, the granma and yeye would bring Baobao to the playground and then McDonalds for some fries and screen play.
Depending on whereabouts we went, there was a steady diet of Chik-Fil-A, In-N-Out, Cheesecake Factory, Blaze Pizza, Meet Fresh, Kura Sushi, and BCD Tofuhouse to name a few. I think we probably hung out a little TOO much at the Diamond Jamboree Shopping Center having even got a hotel there one night while visiting nainai.
There was so much playing that we could always count on Baobao to take a nap midday even though he had dropped his nap over a year ago.
We also went up to Laguna Woods/Irvine more times than we would’ve thought we would at the beginning of the summer. There’s a lot of food options there and it’s so young family-oriented that there’s a ton to do there from ice skating to riding a hot air balloon to the Spectrum ferris wheel.
You both might be London born, but I’m sure you’ll both definitely have that California love in you.
